What an amazing 5 months!! Thank you all so much for all of your help, support and encouragement. Although I didn't win the race, I was blessed with many new friends, a wealth of knowledge and tremendous satisfaction in participating and promoting our incredible democratic process. But, that process needs our constant attention and involvement - which will be one of the missions of my website from this point forward.
A special thanks to my children, Jessica, Lucas and Makenzie for 'bearing with me' and always reminding me that they were proud of me and thankful I did not put their pictures on my campaign signs!
Thanks so much to Mayor Steve Berman for all of his hard work and constant encouragement. I am glad I entered the race and would not have had ANY IDEA on where to begin, where to go or how to get there had it not been for his direction and advice. He is a great asset to our city/state and we are lucky to have him.
Thanks also to Mayor Hawker, Mayor Coleman, Sheriff Arapio and The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce for being willing to endorse a political neophyte in race against two entrenched incumbents. I learned quickly that courage is hard to find in the world of politics. I respect them for theirs.
And last but not least, thanks to Nancy Gardner, my one-woman 'getting anything you need done' team who stood out with me in the 100+ degree temperatures getting signatures, walking door-to-door, fixing signs and even helping paint my house in preparation for a fundraiser. I couldn't have done it without her.
In closing, people are asking if I will run again. Maybe, but for now, I have to get back to business and just maybe, if my kids are lucky, I will have time to fix dinner at least once a week.
Thank you again. God Bless!
